Start living beyond "coping."
Start living beyond "coping."
I'm Teresa, a counselor from Oregon who is passionate about encouraging stories of transformation. Humans are resilient and do well when they can. We all deserve empathy and a chance to grow and heal. If you're experiencing challenges keeping you from being your best you, let's talk.
Anxiety and depression often come hand in hand: as many as 18.1% of Americans report struggling with anxiety, and nearly half of those experience depression (ADAA). We can work together to assess the source of your concerns. Then, we'll come up with a personalized plan for getting through today, while exploring a better tomorrow.
"With appropriate supports and interventions, people can overcome trauma experiences" (SAMSHA). Did you catch that? Beyond coping, people CAN permanently overcome many aspects of trauma. If you're working to shake the pain of abuse or or limiting beliefs from the past, it may be time to address your foundations to heal.
If you're experiencing a difficult transition or loss, it may be time to link arms and begin to process the steps ahead. This might mean dealing with the pain of addiction, a scary diagnosis, a break-up or loss, exploring identity, growing a relationship or career, or just living your best life. We can take the time unpack what you value most to create a clearer path forward,
It can be tempting to "go it alone." But stronger relationships can mean better, longer, happier lives. Trauma happens in the context of damaged relationships, so healing often happens best within a healthy community. If trust, intimacy, or attachment issues seem to follow you one year (or one relationship) to the next, let's set course for healthier connections ahead.
Teresa Jansen, LPC, EMDRC, is a strengths-based, inclusive, and trauma informed counselor and supervisor in Oregon. She is uniquely passionate about serving our neighbors who identify as LGBTQiA+ and those healing from spiritual trauma (spiritual or religious experiences contributing to personal or community ruptures, disconnection, relational and/or existential pain). She enjoys seeing clients grow beyond "coping skills" and experiencing a greater sense of safety, purpose, connection, and joy.
